Rodney Dieser, Ph.D. CTRS LMHC

Rodney’s passion is helping people experience greater positive emotion and enjoyment in life.

Rodney has years of experience working with a variety of clients including individuals, couples, and adolescents. He has experience working with relational struggles, addiction, anxiety, depression, anger/aggression, stress management, work-place struggles, and career development.

Rodney draws from cognitive-behavioral, existential-humanistic, strength-based and solution focused approaches to support healthy change toward improved mental health and well-being.  He also builds on six core dimensions of wellness (e.g., exercise/movement, nutrition, leisure) in the counseling process. He is also credentialed as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist.

In addition to mental health counseling, Rodney is a faculty member at the University of Northern Iowa in the Department of Health, Recreation and Community Services and is an affiliated faculty member in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program.
