Rebecca Dickinson, MSW, LISW, RPT-S
Rebecca has extensive clinical experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. Rebecca specializes in working with children who have experienced trauma, particularly foster/adoptive children. She has advanced training in Adlerian play therapy, completed and supervised by its developer, Dr. Terry Kottman. Additionally, Rebecca is certified in AutPlay, a play therapy model specific to children on the Autism Spectrum. She is credentialed as a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor through the Association for Play Therapy.
Rebecca provides a holistic approach to therapy, focusing on encouraging client strengths and building meaningful connections. As a play therapist, Rebecca uses play to facilitate change in a manner developmentally appropriate to children in a safe and nurturing manner. Rebecca utilizes a variety of techniques in therapy depending on the client’s needs and interests, including the use of play, art, sandtray and traditional talk therapy.
As part of her current PhD studies, Rebecca is conducting research on the effectiveness of group Adlerian play therapy in relation to trauma.
